DCBounce presents a collective Door County Insider Tip from the city of Sturgeon Bay: 12th Annual Steel Bridge Songfest!

The 12th Annual Steel Bridge Songfest is just around the corner and we suggest you head on up to Sturgeon Bay and check this incredible event off your bucket list. This year’s festival runs June 9-12 in Door County’s Sturgeon Bay.

Grab a $25 weekend pass – there are free shows too!  Get a complete list of 2016 Performers – click here. Check out the 2016 Venue Map – click here. And learn all you need to know about the festival by clicking here.

In the meantime, treat yourself to a trip down SBSF memory lane.

In 2006, 2007 and 2008, Caitlin Oleson, Emily Wolfe and Barb Luhring interviewed participants of Steel Bridge Songfest 2 for Door Pod Show and we’ve got links to a feast of audio podcasts below. Some are mere snippets. Some are longer. Some have quiet backgrounds. Some have loud music playing in the background. Each podcast features a special moment in the history of a music festival built by siblings pat mAcdonald to help his sister Christie Weber save a beloved city icon.

Without further adieu… Click the links below for the audio.

Door County Insider Tip #106: Birchwood Lodge & Ellison Bay Pottery

February 10, 2016 By Barbara Luhring Leave a Comment

Insider Tips from Door County LocalsWe think its only fair to tell you that the ‘covered baking dish’ is the official Spirit Animal of Door County’s Ellison Bay Pottery. What we mean by that is this: when you walk into Diane McNeil and John Dietrich’s pottery studio, you stealthily begin cruising the mugs and steins. All the while, you’ve really got your eye on the large array of covered baking dishes. You circle the vases, both large and small; the dinnerware place settings; but you can’t get your eyes off the covered baking dishes.

DCBounce says give into your desire! Every home needs one or two covered baking dish. And we guarantee you’ll suffer NO buyer’s remorse!

Before you head north book a suite at Birchwood Lodge in Sister Bay. Tell Roman we sent you!
